Hair Loss Men
Voluminous, healthy hair has always been considered a sign of a healthy body and overall well-being, and it is even more prized in the modern era. As such, hair loss can cause a great deal of distress and adversely affect self-confidence. This leads many of those suffering from hair loss to search for remedies. Since hair loss can be caused by a variety of factors, it is important to find products that suit your hair’s individual needs. This could be the treatment of a specific condition, the prevention of hair loss or the promotion of hair regrowth.
On average, we have between 75,000 and 150,000 hairs on our head at any given time. We tend to lose between 70 and 100 hairs a day, which is part of the natural hair growth cycle and entirely harmless. However, if you lose significantly more than the average 100 a day, this could become noticeable, indicative of a hair loss problem. Symptoms often appear gradually as more hair is found in your hairbrush, in the shower or on your hands, in other cases it happens more suddenly.
To some extent hair loss is part of the natural aging process: 40% of men will have noticeable hair loss by the age of 35, while 50-75% of women will suffer from some form of hair loss by the age of 65. However, if there is an underlying condition or genetic predisposition, it can occur in earlier years. As such, it is essential to identify the cause when symptoms arise in order to find the right treatments and products for your hair loss problems.
The Hair growth cycle
The natural hair growth cycle is comprised of three stages: the anagen, catagen, and telogen phases. The visible growth of the hair shaft out of the follicle takes place during the anagen phase. Two cell aggregates have a crucial function in the initiation of this phase: the dermal papilla cells together with dermal fibroblasts and the bulge stem cells (or ORSc cells), located on the outer root sheath of the follicle.
Owing to the important role the ORSc cells play, the following factors can be an underlying cause of hair loss. The ORSc cells are less productive and as such do not fully support hair growth, or the communication between the papilla and the ORSc cells breaks down, reducing the renewal rate of the papilla cells. These circumstances hinder the re-initiation of the anagen phase following the telogen phase, reducing the overall growth rate and leading to hair loss.
In order to support your hair in its natural growth cycle, Revalid has developed a holistic hair treatment against hair loss which comprises the brand new Revalid Energizing Shampoo for men, the Revalid Stimulating Shampoo and the Revalid Regrowth Serum. Both shampoo and serum contain the innovative active ingredient Redensyl. This breakthrough ingredient is based on regenerative medicine research and targets the dermal papilla cells and the ORSc cells directly to favour hair growth.
